"Ivan Patzaichin" International Canoe Marathon - 2nd Edition

The second edition of the Ivan Patzaichin International Canoe Marathon, a unique experience for Delta lovers, through which we carry forward Ivan's vision of sport as a means of connecting people and water, will take place between May 22-24, 2026. Dedicated to kayaking, canoeing and stand-up paddle enthusiasts, the marathon will take place on the Tulcea - Mila 23 route. Registration begins on December 15, 2025, on www.rowmania.ro.

The competition takes place along the "Ivan's Delta" ecotourism route, authorized by the ARBDD, which connects the Ivan Patzaichin Memorial on the Tulcea Seafront to the Ivan Patzaichin Museum in Mila 23. The 45 km can be completed either in one day (Elite category) or in two days (Loisir category), being accessible to both performance athletes and amateurs passionate about nature and adventure.

This initiative, in collaboration with ANSPSR Constanța (National Association of Professional Divers in Romania), is part of Ivan Patzaichin's legacy to all of us - a vast heritage that continues to inspire entire generations, promoting the values ​​of sport, respect for nature, the harmonious development of local communities, the creative valorization of natural and cultural heritage, the democratization of access to waters, ecotourism, education for sustainability, community building and innovation in the Danube Delta.
