Minors may participate only under the responsibility of their parents or accompanying adults. If you can no longer make it, please let us know by email as well.

📍 Meeting point: Statue of Mircea cel Bătrân, Piața Civică
Tulcea is a layered city, like an old book with pages still waiting to be read. Here, history does not hide in museums — it breathes directly from the streets: in the peeling facades, in the quiet buildings, in the gaze of those who know what once stood here.
The city took shape and flourished through the communities that lived together here for decades and even centuries: Greeks, Jews, Turks, Bulgarians, Armenians, Romanians, Lipovan Russians, and many others. Each left a mark on Tulcea’s story — through trade, architecture, cultural life, or collective memory.
🔍 What will we explore together?
A living, multicultural route that starts in the heart of the city — Civic Square — and takes you through the former Greek, Turkish, Bulgarian, and Armenian neighborhoods. We will stop at emblematic buildings and seemingly ordinary places that hold surprising stories.
- Avramide House — a witness to the prosperity of local merchants
- Faimblat House — filled with forgotten stories
- Pasha’s Palace — an echo of Ottoman authority
- Azizie Mosque — a symbol of Muslim presence
- Armenian Church — the center of an old community
- Church with the Clock — a symbol of urban evolution
- Plus other places with an old-world atmosphere and stories you won’t find in textbooks.
🎒 Wear comfortable shoes, bring curiosity, and come with an open mind for a city you thought you already knew. This is not a history lesson — it is a journey through living memory.
