Tulcea is a layered city, like an old book with still unknown pages. Here, history is not hidden in museums, but breathes directly from the streets: in the peeling facades, in silent buildings, in the gaze of those who know what was "here, once". The city was formed and flourished with the help of ethnic communities that have lived together for tens and hundreds of years: Greeks, Jews, Turks, Bulgarians, Armenians, Romanians, Lipovean Russians and many others. Each one has left their mark on the story of Tulcea: whether through trade, architecture, cultural life or collective memory.
