2. The city’s museums Tulcea is home to the largest aquarium in Romania, within the Danube Delta Eco-Tourism Museum Center. 3.Historic buildings - The Avramide House is considered by many locals to be the most beautiful building in the city. It is open to visitors and hosts truly special art galleries. 4. The Independence Monument was dedicated to the return of Dobruja to Romania, with the cornerstone laid by Carol I during his visit to Tulcea in 1879. The Museum of History and Archaeology is also located in the Monument Park. 5. The Promenade and the Ivan Patzaichin Memorial is the heart of our city and the favorite strolling spot for locals and visitors alike. It stretches for almost 2 km, from the Railway Station — an architectural symbol of Tulcea — to the Memorial Ensemble dedicated to the great champion Ivan Patzaichin. 6. Ciuperca Park and the Rosarium - If you enjoy walks, you can’t miss Tulcea’s largest park, which extends from the promenade. 7. Local gastronomy - When you say Tulcea, you automatically think of fish — and for good reason! You can’t visit without trying a serving of fish roe spread on toast, traditional fish soup (borș de pește), the much-coveted storceag (sturgeon soup), fresh fish grilled on a salt slab, or a delicious brine-style fish stew with polenta and hot pepper.
